  • Cargo is an important revenue source for the airport. Although it is used by numerous cargo carriers, only one is headquartered in Brussels. Cargo B Airlines launched operations in October and now has two Boeing 747 freighters, with a third due on April 1, 2008.

  • A recent success for Brussels Airport was being selected by Indian carrier Jet Airways as its European hub. Flights stop in the Belgian capital en route to North America. In the picture, a Jet Airways' Boeing 777-300s departs one of the carrier’s many services from Brussels.

  • Transport aircraft of the Belgian Air Component operate from Melsbroek Air Base on the northeast side of the airport. These aircraft are assigned to the resident 15th Wing. Pictured are four of the unit's C-130Hs on the ramp at Melsbroek.

  • Brussels Airlines is the biggest provider of flights from the Belgian capital and has helped to fill the void left by the collapse of Sabena. Pictured is one of the carrier's Airbus A330s taking off from Brussels Airport. The airline is applying a new colour scheme to its fleet, and three examples of it can be seen behind this aircraft parked at the terminal.

  • Brussels is home to the headquarters of the European Union and to NATO, so aircraft bringing in VIPs are a common sight at its airport. This French Air Force Airbus A319CJ recently carried French President Nicolas Sarkozy on a visit to the city.
