  • Four views of restoration in progress in BST’s workshops at Friedrichshafen. Top to bottom: both forward engine cowls after restoration and priming; the partly-completed cockpit looking aft, with control-column socket visible in the foreground and corrosion perforating the seat-back; the aft fuselage shell of Bf 110 M8+ZE after cannibalisation; and LN+NR’s partly-restored Daimler-Benz DB601 engines, which had suffered severe corrosion of the magnesium castings which mounted the engine-driven auxiliaries.

  • Bf 110 LN+NR in its unrestored state at Jim Pearce’s Sussex airstrip on December 13, 1992, soon after its arrival in the UK from Russia. The canopy of Pearce’s other Bf 110, E-2 variant Werknr 4502 M8+ZE, has been added for effect; both aircraft were acquired by New Zealand collector Sir Tim Wallis but were subsequently sold to the Deutsche Technikmuseum in Berlin.
