Регистрационный номер: XR268 The photograph has arrived from Martin Smith and appears to have been taken in Cyprus. Which Auster AOP.9 it is cannot be discerned but perhaps we have readers who recall seeing one in such an undignified position, possibly in the 1960s.
The Auster photographed on page 109 stirred the memories of Peter Davis and Michael Austin. It was apparently outside the Air Training Corps hut at Akrotiri between 1969 and 1973 and was XR268.
