It is difficult to decipher the serial number on this Roc, only the code letter 'W'. The turret has been removed but there is no sign of a target-towing winch so possibly it is an AACU or FRU aircraft. A Fulmar appears in the background and the rocks appear non-UK in origin. Possibly an Egyptian airfield?

A study in camouflage. Both the Mitchell and the Vengeance are in full camouflage but the hangars have acquired outriggers and a small mountain. The question is where the photograph was taken. The serial on the Mitchell is blurred but seems to start with 'KJ'. The juxtaposition of a Mitchell and a Vengeance is fairly unusual.

Регистрационный номер: K1278 Wapiti K1278 served with No.31 and was struck off charge on 31 May 1932 for obvious reasons. But what happened to K1278 and where did it all end?

Avro 504N No.9 was a primary trainer with the Belgian Air Force, one of thirty-one built by SABCA, the last of which was delivered in 1938, not a bad record for a type whose prototype flew in 1913. They were still in service when the Germans invaded in May 1940.
There is a penguin emblem under the rear cockpit. In the background is a Stampe SV-4bis but where was the photograph taken - and when? The modern terminal building suggest an airport and part of the Belgian training establishment was at Antwerp/Deurne. And what is that ahead of the front cockpit? A horn?Самолёты на фотографии: Avro Avro 504N - Великобритания - 1920Stampe et Vertongen SV-4 - Бельгия - 1933

Регистрационный номер: N2111 Blackburn-built Sopwith Baby N2111 taxying. It carries no individual unit identity as many Babies in use at seaplane stations did. The only fact known was that it was taken on 1 June 1918, possibly at Seaton Carew. If any of our readers knows different, we would like to be corrected!

Регистрационный номер: J9172 Fairey IIIF seaplane J9172 out visiting as the aircraft in the background are not standard RAF issue. At first glance, one might assume that it was one of 202 Squadron's aircraft on tour in the Mediterranean but the FBA/Macchi look of the residents is deceptive. They seem to be Vickers Vedettes built in Canada.
