One of the candidates for the forced landing on 16.11.33, Wibault 282-T12 F-AMHN carries the fleet name "La Voile d'Or" on the left side while the English translation "The Golden Clipper" appeared on the right side. Note the Townend ring cowlings on the wing engines while the third 360 hp Gnome Rhone 7Kd Mistral Major engine on the nose remains uncowled.

At first sight a nice level landing for F-ANBK but a closer look reveals that the aircraft lies across a deep ditch and that the port (confirmed, port!) engine is missing. The date fits in conveniently with our other new problems below, being 23.11.35. Any other details welcome.
F-ANBK was a Wibault 283.T12 c/n 14 named "L'Ambitieux". From the entry above it was clearly not involved in the 11.11.35 accident. It did have an accident at Tangier on 23 or 24.11.35 and this is the one illustrated. The aircraft was repaired and was based in Buenos Aires in 1938.

This manufacturer's photo shows Stearman 4CM1 'Senior Speedmail' NC11721 c/n 4039 which crashed on 20.1.33 in fog. On the original photo the American Airways name and logo are clearly seen on the fuselage side and "U.S.Mail" forward of this partly hidden by the interplane struts. The name 'Stearman' appears on the rudder below the registration. Although the pilot was killed in the crash the metal-lined cargo hold ahead of the cockpit saved the mail.
