Hugh Johnson, Cobham's chief pilot on the air display tours, awaits word that the Courier is approaching Malta. Note the bank of large cylindrical fuel-storage tanks mounted vertically in the passenger cabin, and the makeshift fuel-gauge panel above the fuselage.

Регистрационный номер: G-AADB, G-ABXN [5], G-EBMR [3] Cobham's Airspeed Courier practises refuelling from the Handley Page W.10 airliner normally used on the National Aviation Day Display tours. Here the trial, taking place over the South Coast of England near Ford, is being closely observed from a D.H.60 Moth.

Handley Page W10 G-EBMM over Portsmouth pumps petrol for the last time to the Sir Alan Cobham's Airspeed Courier, G-ABXN, during the ill-fated record flight to India in 1934. After refuelling the Courier on September 22, the W10 broke-up in mid-air and crashed at Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire, killing all four crew. The Courier later had to force land at Hal Far, Malta, due to engine problems.Самолёты на фотографии: Airspeed Courier / AS.5 - Великобритания - 1933Handley Page H.P.18 (W.8) / H.P.30 (W.10) - Великобритания - 1919

Регистрационный номер: G-ABXN [5] A poor but rare the photograph of the Courier shortly after its forced landing on Malta after the throttle control lever became disconnected from the carburettor owing to the failure to fit a split pin in a connection beneath the cowling. Cobham found the throttle lever loose just after refuelling in flight from Handley Page W.10 G-EBMR on September 22, 1934.
