The two US Navy Utility aircraft 0908 and 0909 (foreground) were designated JH-1 and were used for radio control experiments. Obviously long-legged Navy men don't require steps!

This view of PH-APY head-on shows the KLM markings, left side wheel fairings, steps, central clear-vision panel and overwing main leg fairings. In both of these photographs a wind-driven generator can be seen mounted on the left overwing main leg fairing, a feature that was also found on NC15525.
