The five Hawker Hurricanes used in the film Angels One-Five, with 554/VX-O in the foreground. The aircraft were based at Kenley for a month during the summer of 1951. The guns and long-range tanks were removed during filming - this picture was probably taken at Langley.

“SPITFIRE SPECIAL DELIVERY”. Raymond Baxter flew Spitfires with the RAF from 1941 until V.E Day. On March 18th, 1945 he was serving with 602 Sqn. when six of their Spitfire Mk.XVI’s made a precision attack on the Baatasher-Mex building in The Hague, which housed the V1/V2 technical headquarters. Flying in close formation, and barely clearing the roof of the heavily defended target after delivering their delayed action bombs, Michael Turner’s action packed painting shows Flt.Lt. Baxter’s aircraft narrowly missing the spire of the adjacent Church as they depart at high speed.

GORDON BAIN photographed Ron van Kregtem's Sikorsky S-43W, N440, on May 29 last year. The aircraft was en route from Watsonville to Bakersfield, California, on the first leg of its journey back to Houston, Texas, after appearing at the 31st Annual West Coast Fly-in and Airshow. The Sikorsky used to be owned by Howard Hughes.
