Seen at RAF Aldergrove in July 1959 is Beech SNB-2C 23760 in orange and white trainer colouring, probably redesignated TC-45J. Powered by two 450 h.p. Pratt & Whitney radials.

Lightning F.6 XS934. First flown on May 11, 1967, it was delivered to 11 Sqn that July. The aircraft passed to 5 Sqn, then to 56 Sqn in March 1973; it crashed into the sea off Cyprus on April 3, 1973 - the pilot ejected. This photograph was taken at the Battle of Britain display at RAF Leuchars on September 16, 1967.

Supermarine Swift F.7 XF121 was delivered to 1 Guided Weapon Development Squadron (GWDS) in 1957. The Mark 7 was similar to the Mark 5 but had an increased wingspan and longer fuselage. It was powered by a 9,950lb-thrust Rolls-Royce Avon 716. XF121 is seen here at Aldergrove in July 1959.

Languishing at Aldergrove in July 1959 were these Avro Lincoln IIs, with RF566 in the foreground and RF457 behind. Roth built by Armstrong Whitworth at Raginton in 1945-47, they went to Signals School in December 1959.

Handley Page Hastings TG622 and TG566 at Aldergrove in July 1959. Mike Waggot had air experience flights in both of these aircraft while at CCF camp at the station. Both aircraft were converted to Met.I status and struck off RAF charge in 1966.

RAF Chipmunk T.10 WB581 being refuelled at RAF Tern Hill in September 1959. Mike Waggot had an air experience flight in a Chipmunk. WB581 was flown with 22 RFS, Queens University, Southampton UAS, Bristol UAS, Glasgow UAS and finally with 6 Air Experience Flight. Sold in 1973, it became G-RBNB. In November 1982 it was sold in South Africa and became ZS-LJU.
