The colour plate depicts XP534 - painted in false markings as Red Arrows Gnat XR993 - being flown by Air Vice-Marshal Boz Robinson on July 7 this year. In the front seat is former Arrows leader and Old Flying Machine Company (OFMC) founder Ray Hanna, making his first flight in the type for 28 years. RICHARD PAVER took the photograph from the OFMC’s Aero L-39 Albatros, which was being flown by Ray’s son Mark.
