The BAe Hawk has had a 17-year association with the Finnish Air Force and operates with both the frontline fighter squadrons in the attack role as well as with the Air Academy at Kauhava for training. To date, Finland has purchased 57 Hawks, 50 Mk 51s and seven Mk 51As.
Boeing F-18 Hornet HN-405 is one of the Air Force’s first single-seaters and with a handful of other examples, took part in the armament camp at Oulu.
