Avio Linee Italiane’s six Alfa Romeo 126 RC.10-engined examples - I-SAMO, ’SETI, ’SUTO, 'SAUL, ’SITA and 'STAR - joined the ALI fleet in early 1937.

The modern long-chord cowling is designed in relation to the body behind it. Note in this view of one of Sabena's Savoia Marchettis how the cowling of the fuselage engine increases in diameter toward the rear and how that of the outboard units taper in the opposite sense.

S.A.B.E.N.A.'s LATEST: The Savoia-Marchetti S.73 being demonstrated near Croydon. At the time when this picture was taken by a Flight photographer the machine was carrying most of this country's aviation correspondents!
SABENA's first Italian-built Savoia S.73 OO-AGL which is said to have been I-SIAI originally (confirmation required!). It is seen here on an early flight in the vicinity of Croydon on 2.4.35 in a cream and brown colour scheme.

Фактически с момента переброски в Северную Африку "Африканского Корпуса" германский "воздушный мост", связывавший Чёрный Континент с Италией, работал практически без перебоев до начала апреля 1943 г. На фото: итальянские многоцелевые SM.84 (SM.73 и SM.75 ???). Доставив в Африку снабжение их экипажи нередко "подлётывали" ночью с бомбами, нанося удары по английским аэродромам, после чего сразу уходили на свои авиабазы в Италию.
