Upgraded Su-27SM Flanker B RF-95251 '73 Red' carrying four Vympel R-73 infrared-guided short range air-to-air missiles. The aircraft is seen during an intercept in international airspace near the Baltic States by a Belgian F-16.

Su-35C Flanker E fighters RF-81745 '57 Red’ and RF-81742 '54 Red' were intercepted by Belgian F-16s on November 8, 2017. The two fighters were delivered to Besovets Air Base (Petrozavodsk Airport) near Lake Onega in Karelia, some 650km (350nm) northeast of Tallin.
