    Harvard KF196/24 was al While Waltham in September 1945 for the Air Transport Auxiliary's Farewell Display. It served with the ATA from August 1914 until April 1946 and was struck off RAF charge on July 21, 1950. The strange method of serial presentation is repeated on Oxford V3505 in the background, which went to the Danish Air Force in November 19-16.

    Rocket-armed Tempest V SN259 MF-F of the Fighter Leaders School at Tangmere. This Tempest was later converted to a target tug and went to 233 OCU at Pembrey before going to the Ministry of Supply in November 1950.

    Bristol Beaufighter VIF MM915 ZQ-D of the Fighter Interception Unit, CFE, at Tangmere. The FIU used a number of operational types which wore the ZQ code from 1940 to 1946. This Beau was near the end of its flying life, becoming instructional airframe 5606M in September 1945.

    Liberator VI KL900 FS-R, seen here at Tangmere, belonged to 148 Sqn which operated the type in Italy at this time. Coincidentally, 148 had previously been based at Tangmere in 1919, with F.E.2s. The fate of this Liberator is not recorded.

  • Junkers Ju 88G-6 Werknummer 622311 at RAF Tangmere. Formerly coded 3C+DA of NJG4, the aircraft was surrendered at Eggebek and then flown to Tangmere via Schleswig. It had the Morgenstern-type aerial array associated with the FuG 218 radar. Its ultimate fate is unknown.

  • Junkers Ju 88G-6 Werknr 622983/4R+RB of NJG2 was surrendered at Schleswig, from where it was ferried to the Central Fighter Establishment (CFE) at Tangmere. Subsequently delivered to the Radio Warfare Establishment at Foulsham for investigation of its FuG 218 and 350 radars, it overshot the runway and, although later transferred to the CFE's new base at West Raynham, was probably beyond economical repair.

    Avro York MW295 KY-X served with 242 Sqn. then the Far East Communications Squadron, before returning Io the UK. Seen at 22 MU, Silloth, in summer 1946. it was sold to Field Aircraft Services in July 1957, becoming G-APCA. It was sold the following month to Trans Mediterranean Airways as OD-ACQ and later to Persia as EP-ADE.
