A Hughes AGM-65 Maverick has been successfully fired from an SH-2G Super Seasprite as part of an ongoing missile integration programme. Three Mavericks have been carried; a captive-carry inert round, inert firing round and live firing round. Kaman also hopes to offer the helicopter with other missiles, such as the Penguin and Sea Skua.

This UH-2A Seasprite was configured for combat SAR in the Gulf of Tonkin and North Vietnam. A total of 84 UH-2As and 102 UH-2Bs were built, the primary difference between the two variants being their avionic fits.

A UH-2C of Combat Support Squadron Two (HC-2) embarked on USS America in November 1970 hoisting a crewman from the aircraft carrier. The UH-2C was a development of the Seasprite family, designed to give twin-engine safety for overwater operations.

In 1959, Kaman developed and tested the K-17 cold-jet driven helicopter with a single rotor to solve the problem of tip noise and transmission complexities. Directional control was achieved by a fixed-pitch tail rotor.

The H-43B Huskie was a turbine-powered variant of the earlier piston-engined H-43A. Over 200 were delivered to the USAF for local crash rescue duties and when the type was retired from service in 1975 it had the distinction of being the only military helicopter to complete its service career with no loss of life or accidents attributable to the aircraft.

During the period 1954 to 1962, Kaman developed and tested the K-16B tilt-wing VTOL research vehicle for the US Navy. It was based on the Grumman Goose amphibian, with two Lycoming T53-L-2 turbines, each driving a rotor through reduction gearing.
