  • Former Czech Air Force MiG-29 Fulcrum 9207, now serialled 92 with the Polish Air Force, is one of the ten examples recently transferred between the two countries. Note that the aircraft at present still retain Czech-style camouflage together with the tiger striped fin band of its previous Czech unit and have also had the red/white Polish national szachownice markings applied in the old style to match the existing MiGs, which have yet to be repainted in the new, reversed, colours.

  • Now rapidly coming together on the production line at Long Beach, California, is the first prototype McDonnell Douglas MD-95-30, seen here during February 1996 with employees installing wiring, cables and other fittings. Launch customer ValuJet expects to take delivery of its first aircraft in June 1999.

  • Manufacture on a somewhat smaller scale than the ‘big boys’ - seen nearing completion in the Anglo Normandy aero engineering hangar at Guernsey on March 1, 1996 is a new Trislander under construction for Aurigny Air Services using c/n 1065, a previously kit obtained from Florida last year - behind is a second kit, c/n 1072. The first aircraft was expected to fly by the end of March.

    With Airtours International in the process of replacing its MD-83s with A320s, several of the former have already passed on to other operators, including G-GMJM which was rolled-out at Manchester/Ringway on January 26, 1996 as HB-IKN in the eyecatching colours of new Swiss carrier Edelweiss - it is seen here departing on delivery on January 31. Of the other MD-83s, one has gone to Eurofly and one to Far Eastern Air Transport whilst a second example will go to Edelweiss, one to Sunway of Turkey and two to Reno Air.
