Регистрационный номер: N90705 Much of the damage to American Airlines DC-6 "Flagship Arizona" N90705 on 21.8.50 was caused by explosive decompression after a forty-eight inch long section of propeller blade from the number three engine pierced the cabin at 21,000 ft near Eagle, Colorado. The 14 foot long gap was level with the forward cabin bunks which were unoccupied. The engine fell off but control surfaces were not affected and a safe emergency landing was made at Denver.

Регистрационный номер: XA-DEZ Boeing 247D c/n 1724 is shown serving as C-73 42-68373 in 1944. By this time it had T-6 type propellers and cowlings and a D/F loop mounted on the nose, but the windscreen is still the original reverse rake type. After returning to civil use with Varig and SAN it survived until the accident on 28.8.50 as XA-DEZ.

Регистрационный номер: PH-ATO This company-owned Koolhoven FK.58 PH-ATO was cancelled from the Dutch register on 17.1.39. The photo reveals that it clearly suffered an accident and a note on the reverse gives the date of this as 12.1.39 although the precise details are not known. Can anyone provide more information? Judging by the somewhat precarious state of the blocks under the spinner, it may well have been about to suffer another accident!
