    Miles Hawk Major G-ADMW continued flying until wfu 7.65 and is now preserved by the RAF Museum as DG590, its wartime serial. It is shown here as race no.44 at Hurn in 1950. It features on several occasions on cross-country flights from Croydon.

    Wibault 282.T12 F-AKEL "Le Rapide" of Air France was selected to try out a retractable undercarriage as seen here in place of the large streamlined pants fitted to many of the type. All three of the 350 hp Gnome Rhone Titan Major 7Kd engines were cowled on this aircraft, which had originated as the second prototype of the series.

    The DH.88 Comet G-ACSS "Grosvenor House" prior to the start of the MacRobertson Race at Mildenhall in October 1934. Flown by Scott and Black this was of course the winning aircraft and is happily now restored at Old Warden.
    DH.88 Comet G-ACSS may be best known as the red "Grosvenor House" of the 1934 MacRobertson Race as shown here. As "Australian Anniversary" in light blue, it broke the UK - New Zealand return record between March 15th and 26th 1938 as documented below.
