"Standard of California No.8" DC-2A-127 NC14285 c/n 1328 after a forced landing on the sea caused by fuel starvation. Damage to the rudder may have occurred during salvage efforts. Does anyone know details of the accident, the salvage, and what happened after?

Vickers Viking G-AMGI was a survivor of the tyre-burst accident of 8.1.56 and is seen here still in service with Eagle two years later in an atmospheric view of Heathrow by night in May 1958.
