  • Регистрационный номер: G-ASKC, TA719

After its engines-off belly landing at Staverton 27.7.64, Mosquito G-ASKC marked TA719 'SY-G' is seen parked back on its wheels. Both propellers and reduction gears were wrenched off and major damage occurred to the underside and the port wing.
27.7.64 DH.98 Mosquito TT.35 G-ASKC "TA719" of the Skyfame Museum was being flown by A J Stone on a familiarisation flight at Staverton (he was not one of the regular display pilots). He carried out a single-engine flypast followed by a climb to approx 2,000 ft when the operating engine was shut down in error and a power-off approach and belly landing was made on the grass to the left of Runway 22 at 1349 GMT. The landing run headed straight for an earth-covered brick shelter, head-on impact with which would certainly have been fatal for the pilot, but luckily the port wing hit a stack of cut grass on the perimeter, swinging the aircraft to a stop with severe damage to the Mosquito but no injury to the pilot. The aircraft was later restored and is displayed at Duxford.
