Second largest carrier in Lufthansa Regional is eurowings. Based in Dortmund it has 12 CRJ200ERs (pictured), five CRJ200LRs, ten BAe146-300s and four BAe146-200s.
Unlike some large airlines, Lufthansa is strengthening its regional network with orders for 45 new aircraft. Fifteen of the new arrivals will be CRJ900s, which will join 12 already in service. These aircraft will be assigned to Lufthansa City Line, part of Lufthansa Regional, and are fitted with 86 seats.
Another German regional carrier with a connection to Lufthansa is Cirrus Airlines. It is not part of Lufthansa Regional, though it does fly some routes for the German flag-carrier. Asa result, this Dash 8 carries 'Partner of Lufthansa' titles near the rear passenger door.
Air Dolomiti is the only non-German airline in the Lufthansa Regional grouping. This Italian carrier has a hub at Munich,which is where these two ATR42s and three ATR72s are pictured.
Contact Air has been flying services for Lufthansa since 1996. This is one of seven ATR42-500s that it operates alongside six of the larger ATR72-500s.
Lufthansa CityLine is to receive Embraer 190s and additional CRJ900s, which, among others, will replace five Avro RJ85s, an example of which is illustrated here. Thirteen RJ85s are to remain in the fleet as their leases have been extended. Steve
