о том, что по расчетам ее аналитиков в течение следующих 20 лет может быть продано 800-1000 таких вертолетов. Контракт на разработку вертолета был подписан 5 декабря 2005 года, первый EC175 выполнил первый полет 4 декабря 2009 года.
Сертификация EASA была запланирована на 2011 год, поставки первых серийных вертолетов должны начаться в 2012 году. EC175 оптимизирован для выполнения гражданских заданий, как корпоративный и VIP транспорт, поисково-спасательный, полицейский, санитарный, для обслуживания предприятий нефтегазового комплекса и т.д.
Проектирование и подготовка производства велись по безбумажной технологии в среде CAD/CAM. "Eurocopter" отвечает за главный редуктор, рулевой винт, авионику, автопилот, гидравлическую и электрическую системы, двери, остекление и является системным интегратором. Первый и третий прототипы собраны "Eurocopter". "Avicopter" отвечает за фюзеляж, хвостовой и промежуточный редукторы, несущий винт, органы управления, топливную систему и шасси. Двигатели оборудованы цифровой системой управления FADEC. Несущий винт - пятилопастный типа Spheriflex, рулевой винт - трехлопастный. Вариант для нефтегазовой промышленности рассчитан на 16 пассажиров. Пол кабины ровный, без ступеньки между кабиной экипажа и грузопассажирской кабиной. Приборное оборудование кабины выполнено по принципу "стеклянной кабины", комплект авионики близок к установленному на EC225.
Первая сборочная линия вертолетов организована на заводе "Eurocopter" в Мариньяне, Франция, пуск второй сборочной линии ожидается через три - четыре года. В ходе работы выставки "Хели-Экспо 2008" компания "Eurocopter" собрала твердые заказы на 111 вертолетов EC175 от 13 покупателей, включая компании "Bristow Helicopter" и "VIH Aviation Group" (два стартовых заказчика на машину), "DanCopter", "Era Вертолеты", "Halvorson Group", "Global Vectra Helicorp", "Heli-Union", NHV, "HNZ Helicopter Group", "Pegaso" и "UTair Aviation".
Китайский вариант Z-15 выпускается параллельно с EC175, Сухопутные войска Народно-освободительной армии Китая (НОАК) планируют закупить эти вертолеты в 2015-2020 годах для замены вертолетов типов Ми-8, Sikorsky S-70, Harbin Z-8 и Harbin Z-9.
