Luton-based Air Foyle has concluded a five-year aircraft operations management agreement with the Antonov design bureau, and is now using an An-124 Ruslan as part of its own fleet, in joint Air Foyle/Antonov markings. This is an extension of the previously-announced general sales agency agreement with the Bureau and Air Foyle intends to base the aircraft (SSSR 82008) in Northern Europe - probably Luxembourg or Amsterdam - to make it more competitive for charter work by eliminating the cost of positioning flights from its base in Kiev. The An-124 used by Air Foyle is one of two available through the Antonov bureau for commercial operation. with a third to be delivered by the end of this year and a fourth in mid-1991. The new agreement gives Air Foyle first option on additional aircraft as they become available.
