Ait France had operated Concorde services since 1976, however tragedy struck on July 25, 2000 when F-BTSC crashed near Charles de Gaulle Airport killing all 109 people on board. The airline's final commercial Concorde flight left New York's John F Kennedy Airport on May 30, 2003, arriving in Paris the next day
Air France has an extensive long-haul network on which it operates a number of types. This 777-200ER is one of 25 in the fleet, along with 26 '-300ERs. Five freighter versions are also on order.
Regional is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the French flag-carrier which is mainly used for routes that do not have the number of passengers to justify the larger aircraft of Air France. This is one of its Embraer ERJ-135ERs but the airline also operates Beechcraft 1900Ds, Embraer 120ER Brasilias, Embraer 190LRs, ERJ-145EPs and MPs as well as Fokker 70s and '100s.
All four versions of the A320 family are used by Air France, with 147 examples in service. An A320 is pictured just after touchdown.
Air France is one airline which has had a number of its routes affected by high speed rail services due to the TGV in France, Eurostar serving Paris from London and Thalys offering a connection from the French capital to Brussels. This A320 is one of the aircraft types that the carrier uses on services which are competing with high speed trains.
Air France and KLM merged in 2004 and have worked together to find improvements to their operational efficiency. The two carriers share a lot in common, including flying a number of the same types of aircraft such as the Boeing 747, 777 and Airbus A330 (pictured).
This is one often Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellations that entered service with Air France in 1953. These were followed from 1960 onwards by ten L-1649 Super Starliners.
Air France has had a dedicated cargo division for a number of decades and continues to put great emphasis on this part of the company. It has one of the latest freighters in the 747-400ERF (pictured) and was also the launch customer for the 777F.
