Large numbers of wartime aircraft of the Royal Australian Air Force ended up in dumps at Tocumwal, NSW. The airfield had been a Liberator operational training unit. Visible in this view are Kittyhawks, Beaufighters, Beauforts and Hudsons.

Lancaster B.1 PA415 of No. 138 Squadron visiting Wunstorf in May 1947. The white top and black undersides were adopted for Tiger Force at the end of the war in Europe for bombers being transferred to the Pacific area to bomb Japan.

Hectors of No. 612 Squadron in camouflage during the Munich crisis in the autumn of 1938. K8104 in the foreground had a short life with the squadron as it was damaged beyond repair when its engine cut on take-off from Dyce on 28 May 1939. At least the serial remained legible when the camouflage paint was hurriedly splashed on, unlike some other squadrons' handiwork.

SAAB B-17As of the Imperial Ethiopian Air Force flying over a crater lake near Bishoftu, in 1951. Sixty were supplied from 1947 onwards and some continued to serve for over twenty years.
