An RB-26 of the 12th TRS taxies in at K-14 Kimpo in 1951. RB-26s were also occasionally used as “hunter” aircraft paired with “killer” B-26s from night intruder units.

Lt Ed Stoltz took this picture of a B-26 at Taegu in 1951. It is likely that it was operating with the 12th TRS.

The Douglas RB-26 Invader was operated by the 12th TRS in the ECM role, flying at night over mountainous territory. This RB-26C, 44-35250, was photographed in Japan in 1952.

The RF-86, faster and harder to hit with ground fire than the RF-51 or RF-80, was introduced in a bid to increase photographic capability, but was ill-suited to the task owing to the lack of space to fit cameras. This picture of a 67th TRW RF-86F was taken in 1954, after the ceasefire.

The bulges on the front fuselage of the photographic Sabres are well illustrated in this 1955 picture of a 15th TRS RF-86F.

The original Honeybucket aircraft, 48-217, was the only photo Sabre to be shot down over Korea. Jack Williams, commander of the 15th TRS, baled out of it after being hit by North Korean fire. Wingman Clyde Voss took this photo of the Sabre’s final moments with the nose oblique camera of his RF-86.

RF-51D Oh-Kaye Baby sits at Kimpo in 1953. Note the polka dot markings of the 45th TRS on the spinner, wing and tail, and matching flight helmet in the foreground. The 45th were the only 67th TRW squadron to fly Mustangs, covering frontline visual and photo reconnaissance.

RF-80A 45-8379 was damaged by anti-aircraft fire on January 19, 1951. The film camera was installed for a special project and mounted forward-looking.
