A typical "over-the-fence" shot of 55th SRW RC-135D 60-0362 resting on the ramp at Mildenhall, with one of its supporting KC-135As immediately behind. The aircraft's missions would usually take it into international airspace over the Baltic Sea, where it would spend time listening to activities the other side of the "Iron Curtain".

NC-121K 145925, resplendent in its orange and white colour-scheme, was a regular visitor this side of the Atlantic during its period of service under Project Magnet, an on-going survey of the earth's magnetic field which had begun in 1951. The Roadrunner cartoon and name 'El Paisano" had originally been applied to WV-2 126513 which crashed in Antarctica during October 1960. As its replacement, 145925 was named 'Paisano Dos" and it served in this role from 1962 until 1973.
