A 194 Sqn S-51 Dragonfly arrives at Squadron HQ of the RAF Regiment (Malaya). British-built S-51s were fitted with the Alvis Leonides engine in place of the Pratt & Whitney Wasp Junior of the American version.

Close-up of the Sycamore Mk 10, as used in Malaya, showing the jettisonable door, the swivel seat for medical orderly, and the stretcher installation. The Perspex blisters were easily removed and the stretchers could be folded and stowed in the luggage bay.

Sycamore and Whirlwind helicopters of Nos 194 and 155 Sqns photographed during rehearsals for the Queen's birthday flypast over Kuala Lumpur. They are seen flying over tin mine holdings on the outskirts of the city.

Another 848 Sqn Whirlwind, landing at Kuala Lumpur airfield at dusk after a sortie to one of the jungle forts. No 848 Sqn operated ten American-built Whirlwind HAS.21s on antiterrorist duties in Malaya, embarking in the ferry carrier HMS Perseus in December 1952.
