British Midland Canadair C-4 G-ALHY photographed at Castle Donington on January 1, 1966. Originally delivered to BOAC in November 1949 and named Arion, 'HY passed to Overseas Aviation Ltd at Southend in 1960 and to Derby Aviation in October 1961. It remained with the latter company, which later changed its name to British Midland Airways Ltd, until it was scrapped at Castle Donington in 1970.

Airspeed A.S.57 Ambassador 2 G-ALZR at Elmdon, Birmingham on December 18, 1965. Seen here in BKS livery, 'ZR was originally delivered to BEA as Sir Walter Raleigh. In 1957 it was acquired by Rolls-Royce and used as a Tyne testbed, registered G-37-4. Following its conversion for freight duties at Southend, BKS operated the aircraft from 1964 until it was damaged beyond repair at Gatwick on July 26, 1969.
