Affectionately known to London School of Flying CPL students as the Cloth Bomber, Avro Anson I G-AMDA was also used by that company for aerial survey work. Apart from operating the camera your Editor, being the youngest member of the crew, also had the job of winding the undercarriage up and down. This Anson is currently on exhibition at Duxford, painted in its former RAF colour scheme.

Dick Beck, Hiller Aircraft Corporation test pilot, flying the Hiller XROE-1 Rotorcycle in front of the Elstree clubhouse in May 1958. Powered by a 42 h.p. Nelson engine, the Rotorcycle could be folded and stowed away in a space less than 12ft by 30in.
