Painted in USAAF D-Day markings, Douglas C-47A 42-100591 was photographed at Tico in November 1992 by MIKE VINES.

Due to circumstances that he could not forsee, an American client has been unable to take delivery of the Lancaster model shown in the picture. This represents the well known “S for Sugar” currently preserved at the R.A.F. Museum, Hendon. The model depicts the aircraft as it was at the beginning of May '44, when serving with 467 Squadron and approaching its one hundredth op. Like all my replicas, this is to 1/24th scale, making it approximately 36" long, with a wingspan of 5‘ 1". The turrets can be rotated and the guns will elevate. I am offering it for sale at £5000.
