A popular tourist destination in Malawi is Club Macakola on the shore of Lake Malawi. Here, the ATR 42 7Q-YKQ taxies in from the evening flight from Chileka.
VC10 7Q-YKH is now slowly deteriorating at Chileka.
Formerly VP-YNA of Central African Airways, Viscount 7Q-YDK became the backbone of Air Malawi's fleet from 1967 to 1980.
The Dornier 228 7Q-YKS Nyika was bought in 1993 and flies the airline’s shorter routes.
In May 1991, Air Malawi took delivery of this Boeing 737-300 and at the time had a second aircraft on order. In the event, 7Q-YKP remains the only example in service.
