Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche
После прекращения серийного выпуска PA-23 Apache компания "Piper" приступила к производству нового двухмоторного четырехместного кабинного моноплана PA-30 Twin Comanche. Самолет PA-30 был низкопланом с крылом консольного типа, убираемым шасси с носовой опорой и двумя 4-цилиндровыми моторами IO-320-B мощностью по 160 л. с. (119 кВт). Первый полет прототип выполнил 3 мая 1963 года. Вслед за PA-30 в 1965 году в серию пошли варианты PA-30B-160 Twin Comanche и PA-30B Turbo Twin Comanche, который оснащался моторами IO-320-C1A с турбонагнетателями Rayjay. В 1970 году на смену этим двум моделям пришли новые варианты - PA-39 Twin Comanche C/R и PA-39 Turbo Twin Comanche C/R с моторами, оснащенными винтами с постоянной частотой оборотов. Выпуск самолета завершился в 1972 году. Всего построено 2142 машины всех вариантов.

The latest exhibit at the Spanish Air Force Museum at Cuatro Vientos is Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche E31-2, which had been used since 1977 as a target-tug for Spanish Navy AV-8A Matadors (Harriers). The second of two Twin Comanches delivered to the Navy in 1964, E31-2 initially served on general liaison duties. Retired in mid-1999 from service with the 4th Escuadrilla at Rota, Cadiz, it went on display at the museum in September 1999.
