A.Price - Air Seychelles ... Lifeline to Paradise
Air Seychelles’ newly acquired Boeing 767-200ER gets airborne. Although it was obtained under a lease-purchase agreement, the price of this state-of-the-art high technology aircraft represented the equivalent of $930 for every man, woman and child in the small island republic.
Front its formation in 1979 until the present time, Air Seychelles has operated two Britten-Norman Islanders on its inter-island services.
During the mid-1980s the de Havilland (Canada) Twin Otter replaced the Trislander as the main workhorse on the inter-island services, and the airline now has three of these aircraft.
At its inception Air Seychelles operated a couple of Britten-Norman Trislanders on the inter-island routes, one of which is seen getting airborne from the airstrip at Praslin, the second largest island.
