Concorde 01 G-AXDN was delivered to the Duxford Aviation Society on August 20, 1977.
The 45min flypast at RAF Finningley on July 29, 1977, as part of the Queen's Silver Jubilee review, was led by this ensign-towing Whirlwind with Gazelle escorts.
The Spitfire IX Evelyn, owned by South African Larry Barnett, is seen over Johannesburg's skyscrapers. An American collector recently bid £200,000 for the aircraft, which was virtually rebuilt from the ground up.
Another element in the Finningley fly-over was a quartet of Hercules from RAF Lyneham, seen here en route for the event. On August 1 this year, the “Herc” completed ten years in RAF service.

On July 31, 1977 at Old Warden, Neil Williams attempted to take the Shuttleworth's Bleriot monoplane on a circuit of the aerodrome, but the aeroplane force-landed in a cornfield.
Dowty Rotol's ducted propulsor-equipped Islander, G-FANS, convincingly demonstrated its low noise level for the press at Staverton on August 25, 1977.
Seen during rehearsal prior to Her Majesty's review of the Fleet at Spithead, in June 1977, the Wessex helicopters of No 846 Naval Air Squadron fly over the anchored carriers. The review itself on June 28 was unhappily marred by poor weather, which meant that the Queen was unable to see the full flypast.
At the 45min flypast at RAF Finningley on July 29, 1977, as part of the Queen's Silver Jubilee review, an immaculate “25” formation was flown by 22 Jet Provosts.
Taylor J.T.1 monoplane G-APRT is now disguised as a "Yakovlev Yak 9D", and is seen taking off for its first flight in this form at Swansea Airport on May 29, 1977.
