    Ju 52/3m c/n 4039 D-ANAL "Gustav Leffers" at Croydon after disembarkation of passengers. The Junkers 'double wing' trailing edge, ailerons outboard, flaps inboard, is apparent. This may be the D-AL not fully identified in service on 7.4.38.

    Short S.17 G-ACJK "Syrinx" seen at Croydon in 1935 with HP.42W G-AAXD "Horatius" behind. The two flanking twins are Boulton Paul P.71A-2 G-ACOY "Britomart", left, which crashed on landing at Brussels 25.10.35 and P.71A-1 G-ACOX "Boadicea", right, which was lost in the Channel 25.9.36.

    This Wibault 282.T12 c/n 4 F-AMHK "Le Diligent" is seen at a late stage in its career with extended rudder, tailplane finlets and de-icing boots on wings and tail surfaces. It can be compared with its earlier form shown on p.95/67. Cruising speed was 124 mph compared with the 174 mph of the Bloch 220s which soon replaced Wibaults on the Paris-London service.
