Junkers Ju 52/3m freighter G-AFAP "Jason", seen at Heston, was used for night-mail services from Croydon to Berlin. It returned to German hands when it was captured at Oslo during the invasion of Norway in 1940. It seems to have been the subject of a low-flying complaint' from a local resident on the night of 22.4.38.

Albertini's Caproni Ca 310 Libeccio I-ENEI being prepared for his London - Cape Town record attempt. He left Croydon on 17th April 1938 but ran out of fuel and crashed at Zuara on the Libyan coast near Tripoli at 2040 hrs on the 18th.

DH.86A G-ADYI of Wrightways at Croydon, a standard production version with the pointed nose and stepped windscreen that went with the single-pilot cockpit, was impressed as AX795 for 24 Sqdn in July 1940.

The 16-passenger Fokker F.XII G-AEOS ex PH-AID (3 x 425 hp P&W Wasp 9-cyl radials) was one of 12 built, six of which were on the British register. As on 20.4.38 it operated British Airways' London - Paris service.
