Firing trials with various weapons were carried out by the Aeroplane & Armament Experimental Establishment at Orfordness. Other trials took place at Shoeburyness, with also dealt with army and navy weapons. In a trial on 6 October 1938, 20mm Hispano shells were fired into a written-off Blenheim. K7059, K7082, K7145 and K7150 all went to Shoeburyness after accidents so this may be one of them.

Регистрационный номер: AG509 The code letters 'SY' indicate No.613 Squadron and although the final digit of the serial is unreadable, it must be AG509, the only one in the AG50x batch that fits. The emblem carried on the nose is not clear but it could be 'Flook'. AG509 flew into a hill in bad weather while on a cross-country exercise at Long Cliff Scar, 1 mile N of Settle. Yorks., on 14 October 1942.

Loening amphibians had an unmistakable shape and were used by both the US Army and the US Navy. The US Army ordered its first XCOA-1 in 1924, being designated as a Corps Observation Amphibian, followed by nine production examples. The 'C' was dropped when 15 OA-1As were ordered, followed by nine OA-1Bs as illustrated. Ten OA-1Cs followed. The Loenings were used as general purpose aircraft, their ability to operate from land or water making them very useful.

The Ansaldo A-1 Ballila was an initial attempt to replace foreign designs as Italy's standard single-seat fighter. Another 50 were built under licence in Poland by Plage & Laskiewicz at Lublin. Powered by a 220 hp SPA-6A engine. The Balilla was fast but not very manouverable.
