After working as an illustrator for many years, Bill Perring moved on to fine art painting in the 1980s, enjoying the newfound freedom of choosing his own subjects. He started publishing company, D’Arcy Collection, which now publishes his work as limited-edition prints - an example is the B-17 shown. Bill, who lives in Coulsdon, Surrey, is completely self-taught, and his works are noted for their imaginative settings and “characterful” battered and oil-stained aircraft, although he prefers to depict them in peaceful moments before or after action.

Aged 26, Timothy O’Brien is one of Britain’s youngest aviation artists. Lest We Forget, shown, is one of his latest paintings to appear in print form. It is a pleasing study of the aircraft of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight over the Lincolnshire countryside. Timothy started painting aeroplanes at the age of 13, when he joined the Air Training Corps, and his work can now be found in collections worldwide. Along with Guardian of Freedom, depicting a Spitfire over London, Lest we forget has been published in a limited edition of 500, available from Mandrake Ltd of Norfolk at £25 each including postage and packing.

Albans/Tucson-based distributor of the work of well-known European artists such as Heinz Krebs, the German-domiciled artist responsible for Normandy Tiger Hunt, seen here. After combat with Luftwaffe fighters over southern Germany a pair of 82nd FG P-38's return to their bases south of the Alps using the mountain passes for a low level route into Italy. Breathtaking action and speed portrayed by one of the best of the modern masters. This print makes a nice companion to Heinz Krebs' "Tribute to a Lockheed Classic" featuring aircraft of the same unit.

Dean Sawyer has been painting aviation subjects for more than ten years. It has been his long-term ambition to produce a print of his work. This ambition was realised earlier this year with the publication of his print Chipmunk Farewell, shown, commemorating the type’s withdrawal from RAF service. The RAF training theme has been continued with another de Havilland subject, Tiger among the clouds.
