    The first scheduled service operated through Elmdon Airport was by Great Western & Southern Air Lines with DH.89 Dragon Rapide G-ACPP c/n 6254. Previously Railway Air Services 'City of Bristol' from 3.35 until acquired by GW&S in 1.39, this was a long-term survivor, going to Canada 6.61 as CF-PTK.

    DH.89 Dragon Rapide G-ACPR c/n 6255 joined Railway Air Services 18.3.35 as "City of Birmingham". From 2.39 it was operated by Great Western & Southern, serving Elmdon in rotation with G-ACPP, but was dbr at Burford on 19.2.40.

    Dragon Rapide G-AEMH c/n 6336 passed from Personal Airways to North Eastern Airways 11.38 and visited Elmdon on Army Co-operation duties on 10.6.39. It was impressed 3.40 as X9387 and survived the war.

    G-AFGF c/n 1 was the first British-built Tipsy Trainer 1 and it was in the hands of dealer Brian Allen Aviation when it visited Elmdon on 23.5.39. It was finally burned at Slough in 1952.

    Railway Air Services 'Mercury' was G-ACVY c/n 2302, the second DH.86 four-engine airliner. It was one of only three with the Rapide-like single-pilot nose and survived the war to be scrapped in 1948.

    G-AEFH c/n 2350 "Neptune" has the tailplane end-plate fin modification of the DH.86B and is seen from the tower gallery at Croydon, where it was based with Railway Air Services. Behind is Short Scylla G-ACJJ and an AW Ensign.
    G-AEFH c/n 2350 ' Neptune', which inaugurated Railway Air Services' routes through Elmdon, was a DH.86B conversion with oval endplate fins. It was lost in 1940 during the evacuation from France.

    Foster-Wickner Wicko G-AFJB c/n 5 was the second GM-1 with 130 hp Gipsy Major engine which became the standard for the 8 production aircraft. The first owner was the Midland Aero Club in 11.38 and in 5.41 it was impressed as Warferry DR613.

    Puss Moth c/n 2184, originally sold to Yugoslavia, returned to the UK as G-AEOA in .36 and prior to impressment was owned by W H Leadbetter. It survived, as seen at Old Warden 29.6.69.

    Taylorcraft Plus C G-AFUA c/n 107 seen picketed out with a cover over the 55 hp Lycoming O-145-A2 flat four engine. It survived the war in storage but was dbr after a forced landing at Northaw, Middlesex (now Herts) on 18.10.48.
