Shenyang J-15 103 is understood to be operating from Huangdicun, where a regiment is currently being equipped with the carrier-borne fighter.

The J-15 is a Chinese copy of the Russian Flanker-D which introduced an all-new avionics suite and weapons. Production-standard J-15s are powered by two WS-turbofans, each rated at 125kN (28,262lb) at full afterburner.
The Shenyang J-15 is China's sole carrier-borne fighter based on the Russian Sukhoi Su-33 airframe.
If Chinese Naval Aviation student pilots seek to aim high, flying the J-15 multirole fighter off a carrier might well suffice. A J-15 approached the flight deck of the Liaoning (16).

Prototype no 554 was probably the most often-photographed J-15 during the early carrier trials seen here with prominent calibration markings while preparing to launch from the carrier Liaoning.
The People’s Liberation Army Navy Aviation has conducted night operations since late-2017.
The J-15 is based on Russian Naval Aviation's Su-33 using the same structural configuration and flight control system, but most of its systems are domestically produced. The radar and weapon systems were originally developed for the J-11B. Two, of the 24 aircraft built, were lost.
With hook deployed, Shenyang J-15 552 is about to touch down on the Liaoning during the initial series of flight trials from the aircraft carrier during November 2012.

J-15 552 undergoes servicing while 553 is being moved as part of trials to train deck handlers. Note the different colours of the vests worn by the deck personnel.

A J-15 departs from the ski-ramp of the Liaoning during the 19-day period of sea trials when the ship was under way in the Northern Bahai Sea.

This aircraft is believed to be a pre-production or early production version of the Shenyang J-15. The black and white arrestor hook is just visible behind the engine nozzles.

By late October 2015, there were 14 J-15s in service with the PLANAF at Huangdicun including the first of Batch 02 pictured here.
J-15T prototype flew for the first time in July 2016 powered by two indigenous WS-10H engines. This variant features a nose strengthened landing gear with a launch bar.
Палубный самолет J-15S
Two-seat J-15s have been in Chinese Naval Aviation service since 2012. The type is thought to be fielded as a dedicated electronic warfare aircraft, similar to the American EA-18G Growler.
Noticeable in this image are the two huge electronic warfare pods on the J-15D's wingtips, either electronic support measures or electronic intelligence equipment. Following the latest reports, the J-15S has been abandoned and merged with the J-15D into a multi-role carrier variant J-17.
The first prototype J-15D - also known as the J-17 - flew in October 2016 and is similar to the People’s Liberation Army Air Force J-16D, which features two large electronic support measures/electronic intelligence gathering pods mounted on the wingtip stations, and several conformal antennas.
