Leeuwarden-based F-16A J-879 received special tail markings in early May 2018 to celebrate 322 Squadron's 75th anniversary. The aircraft was seen landing at its home base on May 7, following a mission to the Cornfield air-to-surface range on the island of Vlieland.
The Belgian Air Force officially revealed its F-16 display aircraft for the 2018 season at Florennes Air Base on April 23, 2018. F-16A FA-101 is painted in a striking black, grey and white colour scheme known as Dark Falcon, one that celebrates the 40th anniversary of the type's introduction to Belgian Air Force service. The tail fin features a large Falcon bird of prey. The Dark Falcon team has developed a nearly 10-minute display to be flown by Senior Captain Stefan Darte, seen here in the cockpit, as Belgium's F-16 solo display pilot for the next three years.
The United States Air National Guard - Air Force Reserve Command Test Center operates the F-16C from Tucson International Airport, Arizona. The unit's jets have been flying with the ASQ-236 radar pod for some time, but they are rarely caught on camera. Block 32 F-16C, 86-0212, was seen departing Tucson International Airport on March 9, 2018, as part of a group of four of the unit's Fighting Falcons. According to the US Air Force, the ASQ-236 contains a synthetic aperture radar that provides detailed mapping for surveillance, coordinate generation and bomb impact assessment purposes. The system provides the ability to precisely geo­locate points of interest and conduct surveillance activities day or night, in adverse weather conditions. Self-contained, the system comprises an antenna attached to a positioner plate that allows it to move about the roll axis, an inertial navigation system, and an environmental cooling system. The pod is more commonly seen on F-15E Strike Eagles.

Airbus A340-300 F-WWAI (msn 1), the first A340, was shown at the recent ILA Berlin Air Show. This aircraft is currently being used for the BLADE (Breakthrough Laminar Aircraft Demonstrator in Europe) programme to test new methods of improving natural laminar flow on airliner wings. Airbus said during ILA the aircraft is around halfway through the 150 hours of flight-testing involved with the project.
American's order for up to 30 more Bombardier CRJ900s is one of three recent deals placed by the world's largest airline for more aircraft, which will total 120 aircraft if all options are exercised.

The Ejercito del Aire's 402 Escuadron based at Cuatro Vientos Air Base near Madrid is about to receive its first AS332M1 Super Puma from overhaul at Airbus Helicopters, Albacete facility with some paint changes. The helicopter registered HT.21A-3/402-22 has new titles applied; 'Reino de Espana' (Spanish Kingdom) on the forward upper fuselage, 'Ejercito del Aire' (Air Force) on the boom, and the EU flag on the tail. Title changes had been implemented on the VIP aircraft operated by 45 Grupo based at Torrejon Air Base some time ago. Helicopters assigned to 402 Escuadron are used to transport members of the Spanish royal family and government ministers around the country. This is the first 402 Escuadron helicopter to incorporate the new titles.
Cathay Pacific's first A350-1000, F-WZGV, departs Toulouse on its maiden flight. Due to be delivered in June 2018, this is the first of 20 A350-1000s for the Hong Kong carrier.
