S.Huertas - Sheffield in sight!
The aircraft carrier ARA 25 de Mayo turning into the wind for the start of a launch cycle - on her deck can be seen an S-2Es, two Super Etendards, an Alouette III, two SH-3Hs and one A-4Q.
Super Etendard ‘3-A-202’ was flown by the section leader, Lt Cdr Augusto Bedacarratz, with Lt Armando Mayora as wingman (in ‘3-A-203’) during the May 4 strike. This photograph was shot from a KC-130H during another anti-ship strike operation against the British Task Force on May 30. On this instance, two of the four Argentine AF A-4Cs seen in the background were shot down.

Although of poor quality, this is one of the few photos taken of SP-2H Neptunes at Rio Grande NAS, from which the two airworthy aircraft operated between early April and May 15, 1982, recording about 400 operational flight hours.

Mid-1987 marked the 25th anniversary of continuous Tracker operations with Escuadrilla Aeronaval Anti-submarina. Three surviving S-2As were converted to the utility role, one of them - 0511 ‘2-G-51’ - was painted in this celebration scheme.

Early S-2As were used by the Escuadrilla Anti-submarina for front line duties from 1962 to 1977, from the carriers Independencia and 25 de Mayo.
S-2E 2-AS-23 was the first to be upgraded as S-2UP, by IAI, and included replacing the old Wright R-1820-82WA reciprocating engines by state-of-the-art Garrett TPE331 turboprops driving Hartzell five-bladed propellers. The other four surviving S-2Es are being upgraded at the Naval Rework Facility in Comandante Espora.
