Another type in use for torpedo training at Gosport was the Blackburn Baffin. This example, K2886, was converted from an inline-engined Ripon and, like the author, served on A Flight at Gosport. This drop is too low, causing a splash that could damage the aircraft.

The photograph was taken in the mid-1930s.
