Регистрационный номер: UB441 Part of the cache of Spitfires and Provosts recovered from the Defence Services Museum in Myanmar/Burma which arrived in America in early May 1999, was on display on the stand of Golden Aviation (GA) of Cassville, Missouri. The display boards in front of Spitfire UB441 used the article Burma Stars, written by Spitfire specialist Peter Arnold and published in the January 1996 Aeroplane.

Регистрационный номер: CF-NXT, G-ADWT Miles M.2W Hawk Major CF-NXT (ex G-ADWT) is a resident of Pioneer Airport at the EAA Museum. It was bought by Royal Canadian Air Force chaplain the Rev John MacGillivray while he was in Britain in 1964, and later donated to the museum.

Регистрационный номер: N1940S Lockheed C-60A Lodestar N1940S was one of several Lockheed twins on view, including three 12As, a PV-2 Harpoon, and two of the post-war executive developments, a Howard 500 and Howard 250 Tri-Gear N177L. The Lodestar was flown in from Kenosha, near Chicago, Illinois, and is up for sale.

Регистрационный номер: CF-AAM Award-winning Fokker Super Universal CF-AAM was restored over a 17-year period by a volunteer group in Calgary, sponsored by Clark Seaborn. It flew again on July 24, 1998, after 10,000 man-hours of work.

Регистрационный номер: N5548N B-25H Mitchell N5548N was operated by the Dominican Air Force from 1949 until 1954, when it returned to the USA for use by the Bendix Aviation Corporation. It has been restored with a 75mm gun nose, and is operated by the Weary Warriors Squadron from Rockford, Illinois.

Part of the cache of Spitfires and Provosts recovered from the Defence Services Museum in Myanmar/Burma which arrived in America in early May 1999, was on display on the stand of Golden Aviation (GA) of Cassville, Missouri. GA boss David Gouldsmith said the Provost, which came with a stack of spares, could be airworthy in a couple of months.

An unusual early morning call for some of the 40,000 campers at Oshkosh, as Rudy Frasca’s 360 h.p. Vedeneyev-powered Fiat G.46 taxies by. The nine-cylinder Russian engine replaces the 250 h.p. Gipsy Queen originally fitted to the G.46 (MM.53097), which has been painted to represent a Fiat G.50.

To see a Phantom fly into the show wearing USAF markings came as bit of a shock, but this F-4F actually belongs to the Luftwaffe and is used to train German pilots in New Mexico.

Регистрационный номер: NC612A, NC612, XB-AHO Greg Herrick’s superb 1929 Kreutzer K-5 Air Coach made its first flight just before the show, after an intensive two-year restoration by HO Aircraft at Anoka County Airport near Minneapolis. It was rescued from a hangar in Mexico in 1980, and brought out through jungle paths in a hazardous and epic recovery during 1981-82. More news on this wonderful aeroplane soon.
