It is seen here in final Dan-Air colours, being directed to its parking position at Gatwick on 5.8.66. On 26.9.71 this aircraft performed the type's last scheduled passenger service.

Регистрационный номер: G-ALFR Close-up of the Eland installation in the production prototype aircraft G-ALFR. This Ambassador was painted in full BEA colours complete with name "RMA Golden Hind", above which, instead of the "Elizabethan Class" titling used by the airline, can be seen the partly-obscured "Eland's Prototype" - the missing word possibly being Turboprops (?). This view also shows the recessed rearward facing spotlight in the nose, used to illuminate the engine at night if required.

It appears to be acceptable for some passengers to arrive on the apron by estate car in those more innocent days! Once again it is G-AMAD "RMA Sir Francis Drake" that features in the promotion.
