A US Army Bird Dog being rescued by a US Army Piasecki (Vertol) H-21 Workhorse at Williamstown, Mass. The US Army two-seater had crash-landed in inaccessible terrain but was lifted to a nearby aerodrome to fly again - October 1957.
A RCAF Cessna 180 is saved from a watery grave by a RCAF Piasecki H-21. The Cessna came down on a frozen lake 300 miles from Montreal, and a thaw threatened its complete loss. The Piasecki carried the Cessna 18 miles to the safety of a suitable strip.
A US Marine Corps Sikorsky HUS-1 Seahorse assists a Cessna OE-2. The OE-2 was similar to the US Army's OE-1 Bird Dog but used Cessna 180 wings.
