    With arms raised, the observer/gunners of these 18 Sqn Hawker Harts indicate a change of direction in a wing drill exercise over Hendon during the 1932 RAF Pageant. This method of inter-aircraft communication was known in the Service as “zogging".

    An unusual visitor to the UK reported by The Aeroplane was the massive Dornier Do-X flying-boat, seen here at Calshot in November 1930 en route from Germany to America. Powered by twelve 600 h.p. Curtiss Conqueror engines, D-1929 arrived with a crew of 15 and with 23 passengers on board, including Dr and Mrs Dornier.

    Entrants in the October 1934 MacRobertson England-Australia Race at RAF Mildenhall on the eve of the start of the race. Nearest the camera is the Mollisons' D.H. Comet G-ACSP Black Magic; next is the green Comet G-ACSR of Waller and Cathcart-Jones, with Granville R-6H NR14307 in the background.
