Регистрационный номер: J-BASC, G-ACJP Mainichi Shimbun's Gull Four J-BASC was originally registered to Percival as G-ACJP with a 130 hp Gipsy Major engine. However, the photographs of J-BASC show it to have the 155 hp Napier Javelin, identifiable by its exhaust system, and it seems that the purchaser must have requested the more powerful engine.

Регистрационный номер: J-BAOI, NC15836 J-BAOI c/n 78 was the first Beech C17E 'Staggerwing' shipped to Japan. The Japanese insisted on the Wright R-760 engine and this and the Curtiss metal propeller were to be supplied for licence production. No evidence of the twenty aircraft said to have been built was found postwar but certainly the engines would have been a valuable acquisition. In the photo the top of the letter O is hidden by the shadow of the wing.

Регистрационный номер: J-BASO [2] The Atlantic Fokker Super Universal was introduced by the Japan Air Transport Co in 1929, J-BASO being the first registration of ten imported in that year. Study of the register will reveal that not only the 6 bought from Atlantic and 4 'assembled from components' have US c/ns but so do 12 more which must correspond to 'full licence production' by Nakajima - in other words these were all US components with Japanese engines. A further 35 built by Manchurian Airways between 1931-34 appear to be the a/c with c/n series commencing with 1 for J-BCEO.
