C-54A TR-LNV, a Libreville-based gun-running aircraft that used the relief airlift as a cover for arms flights into Uli, came to grief on the narrow roadway which served as the airstrip.

Former USAF C-97Gs completed almost 1,200 shuttles into Uli strip, Biafra. Two were lost in crashes, including N52676 (seen on the right). Note that the "twin-fish" insignia is blue, unlike the standard blue-and-yellow styling on N52600 (left).
